Making a Difference, One Family At a Time

Parents and children alike enjoyed the annual TEACH camp

TEACH Camp is a yearly conference held in the heart of Wales for home educators who use the ACE curriculum. It provides an invaluable venue for families who are part of The European Academy of Christian Homeschooling (TEACH) to meet, share experiences, and receive support through sessions, family activities, and fellowship. This year’s TEACH Camp was the biggest yet, which is a testimony to the growth of home education in the United Kingdom.

TEACH Camp is the highlight of the year for many homeschooling families. As one of the parents attending this year said, “It’s so nice to feel normal for a week!” It provides an unrivalled opportunity for families to come together and encourage each other. It will always be a special place for me, as it’s where I first met my wife Becky! So many of the friendships we continue to cherish were formed at TEACH Camp, a place where home educating families can really feel “at home.”

350 people from 75 families participated in this year’s camp at Cefn Lea park! We were encouraged by the fellowship of like-minded Christian educators, practical home educating advice, and of course, the preaching of God's Word. There were 190 children on-site. As this year we have been celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday, the 3-7-year-old and 8-12-year-old groups learned about Jesus as the King of Kings. The 13-plus group were blessed to be led by Tirzah Jones from Day One Youth Ministries.

If you are a home educating family in our neighbourhood of the world, we invite you to join us at next year’s TEACH camp from July 3-7, 2017. Read some of the takeaways from this year’s attendees:

“Many thanks for organising what has become the homeschooling highlight of our year. It provides such wonderful opportunities, from the concert, to fellowship, and lifelong Godly friendships for us and the children.”

“This was our first time at camp, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. You told us what we needed to hear and it was fun at the same time.”

“We attended the camp for the first time and found the sessions to be extremely useful and informative. The children were kept engaged and really enjoyed themselves too. Everyone was catered for. It was a pleasure to meet everyone and the encouragement we received from various families and staff was overwhelming. The atmosphere was second to none.”

“We have been to five camps; this one has been the best so far!”
