Your Calls Are Working but More Action Needed to Defend Parental Freedom

Homeschooling in Colorado

Parents should be trusted to make informed decisions.

HSLDA staff attorney Mike Donnelly helps protect homeschool freedom in your community.

February 27, 2014

Dear Colorado Members and Friends,

Your calls are working! Yesterday, Senate Bill 32 passed out of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee and is now coming before the entire senate. One Democrat joined three Republicans on the measure to move it to the floor of the Senate. Legislation last year banned parents from bringing young children to homeopathic medical providers. SB 32 removes that restriction so that parents can make the decision what kind of health care is best for their children.

Please contact your state senator and urge them to support and urge them to vote support SB 32. Give them the following messages in your own words:

“I am calling to support Senate Bill 32. This bill restores a parent’s ability to choose health care providers for their children. Parents have a fundamental right to make decisions concerning the care of their children. SB 32 allows parents to make these decisions and recognizes their parental rights. Please vote in favor of SB 32.”

You can find the contact information for your state senator here.

Senate Bill 32 would restore the right of parents to choose a health care provider, including alternative health care practitioners, for their children at any age. This bill would address last year’s legislative action that imposed a completely unreasonable prohibition on the ability of parents to seek out alternative health care for their younger children.

Thank you for all you do in defense of freedom for families in the great state of Colorado!

Very truly yours,

Michael P. Donnelly, Esq.
