Your Action Needed to
Preserve Wyoming Constitution

Homeschooling in Wyoming

Make your voice heard.

HSLDA staff attorney Mike Donnelly helps protect homeschool freedom in your community.

Dear Wyoming Members and Friends,

Your action is needed to oppose Senate File (“SF”) 106. This bill calls for a special session to review last year’s legislation which created a new, unelected position of “Director of Education” and transferred the duties and authority from the constitutionally empowered and elected State Superintendent of Schools. This January, the Wyoming Supreme Court declared this transfer of power unconstitutional.

Now, some state legislators are trying again to bypass the constitution and the people’s elected representative by passing SF 106 to hold a special session in response to the court’s decision. It has been reported that the subject matter of the special session would be to try to pass another law that would attempt to undermine the office of the elected state superintendent. Your action is needed to contact the legislature and tell them to oppose SF 106.

Action Requested

Please email the members of the Senate Rules & Procedures Committee and urge them to oppose SF 106. Use the Subject line—“Oppose SF 106.” In your own words, give your senator the following message:

”I am calling to oppose Senate File 106. Transferring the duties of the state superintendent was ruled unconstitutional by the Wyoming Supreme Court, and there is no need to revisit a law that takes away power from the people’s representative to an unelected one. With an election in nine months, calling for a special session is also a waste of taxpayer funds—especially in light of the Supreme Court’s response. Please oppose SF 106.”

You can contact the Senate Rules & Procedures Committee members using the contact information below:

Sen. Tony Ross

Sen. Phil Nicholas

Sen. Eli Bebout

Sen. Bernadine Craft

Sen. Chris Rothfuss

Thank you for all you do in defense of freedom for families in the great state of Wyoming!

Very truly yours,

Michael P. Donnelly, Esq.
