Homeschool Notification
Due by August 15

Homeschooling in the District of Columbia

Notice due August 15.

HSLDA staff attorney Mike Donnelly helps protect homeschool freedom in your community.

Dear HSLDA Members,

Thank you for the privilege of serving you! HSLDA greatly appreciates your membership and support because it allows us to defend you, your family and our movement from unreasonable interference from the government.

I want to remind you that the District of Columbia’s homeschool notification deadline is August 15. D.C. Municipal Regulations require parents providing home education to submit the homeschool notification form to the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE). You can download the form on the OSSE website.

You can mail the form to the following address:

Office of the State Superintendent of Education, Home School Office
810 First Street, NE—5th Floor, Washington, DC 20002
Attention: Stephanie Thomas, Home School Coordinator

If you have not already done so, we encourage you to submit your notification by the deadline. For more detailed information on homeschool law, visit our website.

Also, if you know a homeschooling family who is not a member of HSLDA, would you take a moment to encourage them to join with us to defend our important freedoms?

Thank you for your support of homeschooling in the District of Columbia!

“I Saved My Entire Membership Fee with One Discount”

“When I called Liberty to find out what kind of discount we could get, they told us we would save 10% off our car insurance and 5% off our homeowner’s insurance. What we will save is more than double what it costs to join HSLDA. With one child getting his driver’s license this year, the savings will be a real blessing!”
