Come to the Indiana Homeschool Convention This Weekend!
Dear Members and Friends:
The 28th annual Indiana Association of Home Educators (IAHE) Convention is here! The IAHE Convention will be going on at the Indiana State Fairgrounds this Friday and Saturday, March 31-June 1. The State Fairgrounds are at 1202 East 38th Street in Indianapolis, and the convention will be taking place in the Champions Pavilion and the Marsh Blue Ribbon Pavilion. You will want to enter through the Fall Creek Parkway entrance on the east side of the State Fairgrounds. If you have not already pre-registered, you can register at the door.
This year the keynote speakers are Gregg Harris, a homeschool pioneer through The Home Schooling Workshop, author, pastor, as well as the director of Noble Institute; and Dr. Brian Ray, the president of National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI) and founding editor of the quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal Home School Researcher.
Other featured speakers include Betsy Ray (wife of Dr. Brian Ray), Skeet Savage (with Wisdom’s Gate Ministries and editor of Home School Digest), Peter Heck (talk show host/author), Inge Cannon (EducationPLUS) and Melinda Boring (special needs consultant).
HSLDA Staff Attorney Tj Schmidt will also be at the IAHE Convention. On Friday Tj will present two workshops on “Homeschool Students—Where Are They Now?” and “How Your Teens Can Become Engaged Leaders and Citizens—Generation Joshua.” On Saturday Tj will speak on “Defending Your Front Door—What Can You Do When They Come Knocking.”
If you have never been to the IAHE Convention, you don’t want to miss out on your opportunity to spend a great weekend focused on your family and your home education program. This two-day conference will encourage you, challenge you, and provide hours of shopping for your homeschool curriculum needs! This year the theme of the Convention is “Refine Us, O Lord.”
There is also a free information night titled “You Can Homeschool” on Thursday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Marsh Blue Ribbon Pavilion. Parking is free, and the event is geared for parents who are considering homeschooling.
When you come to the IAHE conference, be sure and stop by the Home School Legal Defense Association table and say “Hi.” As a special bonus at the IAHE Convention, we have two special offers for members:
Please note that these offers are only valid at the conference.
If you are not yet an HSLDA member or know someone else who might be interested in joining, these same offers are available for families who join at the conference.
We look forward to seeing you at the 28th annual IAHE Convention this weekend!
Thomas J. (Tj) Schmidt
