HSLDA Welcomes New Litigation Team Member

Last week, James Robert Mason III from Terre Haute, Indiana, became Home School Legal Defense Association's newest attorney. Jim will be replacing litigation attorney David Gordon, who is moving back to Tennessee to set up his own private practice.

Mason earned his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University, and he attended Regent University School of Law. Before coming to HSLDA, Mason gained significant litigation experience under Jim Bopp, general counsel of the National Right to Life Committee, specializing in federal campaign finance issues.

"I'm very happy to be here," said Mason. "I am looking forward to assisting home school families all over the country."

"Jim Mason is a terrific addition to the team," said HSLDA President Mike Smith. "He combines capable legal skills with a true commitment to defending home schooling families."

Married in 1985, Jim and his wife Debbie home school their six children.
