Washington, DC – Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) President J. Michael Smith will be in Harrisburg, May 7 - 8, for the Christian Home School Association of Pennsylvania Convention (CHAP). Smith will be addressing approximately 6,000 homeschoolers from around the state on a number of topics including "The History of Homeschoolers' Struggle to be Free, The Angry Child – What Makes Him Ticked-off and the Father's Role in Home Education."

"HSLDA has been at the forefront of the modern homeschool movement for 21 years," said Smith.

Homeschooling is entering the mainstream and this is in large part due to the efforts of the HSLDA legal team.

"Homeschool graduates are succeeding in all walks of life and consequently many more families are gaining the confidence to begin homeschooling for themselves," said Smith.

Michael Smith, homeschooling father of four, founded HSLDA with Michael Farris in 1983. In the last 21 years HSLDA has grown to over 80,000 member families and continues to defend the rights of homeschool families before the courts, state legislatures and Congress.
