Senate Bill 2966: Lowing Compulsory School Attendance Age to 5 Years Old

Summary:

This bill would lower the compulsory school attendance age from 6 to 5. Many children have not attained the maturity needed for formal education at age 5. HSLDA believes that parents, not the state, should determine when a child is ready for school.
