House Bill 5443: Requiring Social Services to Disclose Certain Information During Investigations

Summary:

This bill would require the Department of Children and Families to (1) verify the truth, accuracy, and sufficiency of allegations before commencing an investigation, (2) provide notice to parents and guardians of their rights when interacting with the department, and (3) disclose complaints alleging neglect or abuse to the parent or guardian.
