House Bill 3688 and Senate Bill 2741: Parental Choice Scholarship Act
House Senate
Sponsors:
Rep. John J. Deberry, Jr.
Sponsors:
Senator Brian Kelsey
Summary:

This is a bill to fund both public and nonpublic schools in Tennessee under the “Parental Choice Scholarship Act.” HSLDA opposes direct funding of private education which will inevitably lead to more state control of private education. Another problem with this bill is that it would prohibit participating nonpublic schools, including church-related schools, from discriminating on the basis of religion.
