House Bill 1268: Increasing Compulsory School Attendance Age to 18 or Graduation

Summary:

This bill would increase the compulsory school attendance age from 16 to 18 or graduation. A child turning 18 during the school year would be required to complete the year in school. A parent may consent to the withdrawal of a 17- or 18-year-old. HSLDA opposes any expansion of state control over education.
