Senate Bill 560: The Parent Empowerment, Revenue Enhancement and Classroom Size Reduction Act

Summary:

This bill defines eligible student as:
1) Not being provided an education by other means and who is otherwise eligible to enroll in pre-kindergarten in a public school district in a county having more than 50,000 population
2) Eligible to enroll in grades kindergarten through twelve in a public school district who previously was enrolled in the first one hundred days of the prior school year in a school district having more than 50,000 population
Qualified expenditures included:
1) Tuition and fees at a participating school
2) Textbooks that are require for an eligible student who enrolls in a participating school
3) Tutoring or tutoring facility that is accredited by a state, regional or national accrediting organization
4) Tuition and fee for concurrent enrollment provided by an institution within the Oklahoma State System of higher Education or a private institution
5) Tuition and fees for courses taken at a technology center school accredited by the SBCTE
6) Educational service for eligible students with disabilities from a licensed or accredited practitioner or provider.
