This bill would define an "home school student" for purposes of receiving a promise scholarship as "a student who completed high school in a South Carolina home school in compliance with the provisions of Section 59-65-40 or 59-65-45." This definition leaves out homeschool graduates supervised by a homeschool associations that operate pursuant to Section 59-65-47. There are many homeschool students enrolled in these associations that should also be treated as eligible for the scholarship.
HSLDA supports amending this bill to include graduates of homeschool programs in compliance with Section 45-65-47 of the South Carolina Code of Laws.
