Senate Bill 2585: Creates a Tax Deduction for Education Expenses

Summary:

This bill would create a tax deduction of up to $5,000 per family for education expenditures, including "tuition, fees, computer software, textbooks, workbooks, curricula, school supplies (other than personal computers), and other written materials used primarily for academic instruction or for academic tutoring, or both."
