Senate Bill 2180: Independence from Federal Education Mandates

Summary:

This bill communicates the Legislature’s intent that “parents have the primary responsibility for the education of the parent’s children and not the federal, state, or local government.” It further tasks the state with protecting “the rights of parents to exercise control over the education of their children” and prohibits the state from accepting federal funding with strings attached.
