House Bill 19: In-state Tuition Guarantee Excludes Homeschooler
Sponsors:
Delegate Alfonso H. Lopez
Summary:

This bill would create a new path for college student to get the coveted in-state tuition rate for attending Virginia public colleges and universities. This bill would make in-state tuition available to a group of students who would otherwise be required to pay the much higher out-of-state rate. Unfortunately, this new path excludes all students who graduate from a homeschool program in Virginia.

HSLDA will seek to eliminate the discriminatory aspect of the bill. We oppose the bill until it is amended to give equal treatment to homeschool graduates.

HSLDA's Position:

Oppose unless the discrimination against home school graduates is removed.
