Wife of HSLDA Board Chairman and Patrick Henry College President Michael Farris, Vickie Farris is the mother of 10 children: Christy, Jayme, Katie, Jessica, Angie, Michael, Emily, Jonathan, Joseph, and Peter. She also has eight grandchildren. She graduated from Western Washington State College with a degree in elementary education and has been homeschooling her children since 1982. The Farrises live outside the village of Lincoln, Virginia. Vickie is actively involved in her church, serving as a leader in the women’s ministry and sometimes playing the piano for the worship service. She occasionally travels with her husband to speak at homeschool conferences, and is a constant support to him in his vision and work with Patrick Henry College.
