House Bill 2440: Home School Pupils: Testing, Reporting

Author:
Linda Lopez

Summary:
Under current law, home schoolers are exempt from testing. This bill would remove that exemption and replace it with a requirement that home schoolers be tested.

Status:
After exceeding the projected adjournment date by more than a month, the Arizona State Legislature finally adjourned without taking any further action on this bill. Thankfully, HB 2440 is officially dead.

Action Requested:
None.

HSLDA's Position:
This bill is a huge step backwards for Arizona home schoolers, and should be defeated at any cost.
