Victory On Senate Bill 950!

Status:
SB 950 (Richard Alarcon) - Senator Alarcon pulled his bill from its scheduled April 30th hearing in the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. SB 950 is officially dead.

Position:
We Were Strongly OPPOSED

Action Items:
No further action is necessary.

Update:
For a description of SB 950 and our concerns with this bill, please read our previous alert.

We praise God and thank all of you who called, wrote letters, and prayed. We also thank all of you who have financially supported the work of Family Protection Ministries enabling Roy Hanson and Jim Davis to work long hours behind the scenes with several other groups and individuals to stop this bill. Michael Smith of HSLDA provided critical consultation and assistance all along the way to victory. CHEA also joined with Family Protection Ministries and HSLDA to defeat this bill. Thanks is owed to many others as well.

Family Protection Ministries (FPM) is coordinating work at the capitol in Sacramento through meetings with legislators and other parties, and testifying in committee hearings. We and FPM jointly continue to monitor all legislation of significance to private homeschoolers in California.
