Truancy Investigation Dropped in Oklahoma City

Truant officer Rayna Ross sent a letter to a member family in Oklahoma City telling them she had reason to believe that the family's son was not in school. She told the family to call her, and threatened to refer their case to a prosecutor if they did not.

Our member family asked for help. HSLDA staff attorney Scott Woodruff sent a letter to Ms. Ross telling her that the family was in full compliance with Oklahoma law and a member in good standing of HSLDA.

Shortly thereafter, Ms. Ross told us that all charges against the family had been dropped.
