School District Refuses to Remove Unnecessary Information

Despite receiving several complaints, the Logan County public school superintendent insisted on sending another letter to all Logan County homeschoolers requesting that they fill out the school district’s form, which includes unnecessary information.

As soon as Home School Legal Defense Association was notified of this form letter, HSLDA Senior Counsel Chris Klicka replied with a letter of his own. Klicka pointed out the only information homeschoolers needed to provide the superintendent’s office was the name, age, place of residence, and number of hours of attendance of each child enrolled in a home education program. All other information (the superintendent’s form asked for the child’s grade, and whether or not the child would participate in any public school activity) would not be sent by HSLDA member families.

If you reside in Logan County and have received this form letter, please discard it, and only use HSLDA notification forms.
