Mandatory Health Care Coverage Defeated

AB 1952 - Mandatory Health Care Coverage (Assembly Member Joe Nation)- Died in the assembly - An Encouraging Victory!

HSLDA is posting this NEWSFLASH from Roy Hanson and Jim Davis of Family Protection Ministries (FPM).

We thank God for intervening and stopping AB 1952.

* AB 1952 would have provided funding to make it possible for draconian legislation, which has previously failed primarily due to lack of funding, to become law in the future. If this bill had passed, all Californians could have been required to have regular periodic mental exams; and parents of newborns could have been required to submit to intrusive and politically-correct screening before being allowed to take their newborn home from the hospital.

* AB 1952 would have given non-elected government officials the authority to require all health care providers to provide morally objectionable medical procedures without any legislative review and approval. These could have included abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, assisted suicide, etc.

* AB 1952 would have interfered with the right of individuals to manage their own medical decisions. Those who choose to pay out-of-pocket or to select a cooperative health cost-sharing plan, such as Medi-Share, would have been forced to participate in a state-approved insurance program.

* AB 1952 would have had a negative impact on businesses operating in California by causing a significant increase in their operating costs. This would have caused some companies to eliminate positions in order to offset these increased costs, and others may have simply moved out of California.

No action is required on AB 1952.

Permission given to reprint and distribute this Newsflash unaltered to your friends, church, school, and group.
