Testing Bill Dies

A bill which would have required all nonpublic school students to take and pass a high school graduation exam prior to graduation died in the Alabama Legislature at the end of this year’s session. This testing proposal would have included church school students who are taught at home by their parents. It is uncertain whether students taught by private tutors would have been included in the testing. Designated as Senate Bill 360, this bill was sponsored by Senator Bobby Singleton (District 24).
