Compulsory education age: 4–16 (for all children who have reached the age of 6 by September 1st of the current year)

Legal status of homeschooling: Homeschooling is legal, although uncommon. The law on education (Loi du 6 février 2009 relative à l’obligation scolaire) includes the option of home education in Article 9, “Compulsory school education…can also be provided at home.” For further regulations and information, please refer to the article to the left entitled, “How to Homeschool in Luxembourg.”
