Legal status of homeschooling: Homeschooling is legal. There is no explicit law in Botswana requiring parents to send their children to school.

In May 2010, Botswana authorities ordered four homeschool families to put their children in school, despite the inability of the court to find any social or educational problems with the children. We are working with the Pestalozzi Trust, a South African legal defense organization, on behalf of homeschoolers in Botswana.
