How Colleges Use SAT Scores in Admission Decisions
The College Board’s website collects information from colleges as to how they view SAT scores. Some colleges use the highest combined score of the three sections (math, critical reading, and writing) from any one test date, while other schools will use the highest section score from different test dates to arrive at the student’s highest combined test score. Because this info may change at any time, it is expedient to confirm with a specific college how it considers SAT section scores when making admission decisions.
