RealWorld-InWorld NASA Engineering Design Challenge
The RealWorld-InWorld Challenge is designed to encourage students (grades 9- 12) to explore and build skills essential for careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The Challenge is ideal for home schoolers looking for ways to supplement their lesson plans with real-world experiences and NASA-inspired projects. The Challenge offers free and flexible resources and tutorials that can be completed in roughly two weeks. Resources can be used as a stand-alone unit or to supplement existing lesson plans. Parents (coaches) interested in more information should visit the Challenge website and complete the basic registration to gain access to the free resources and tutorials. Only coaches and students who submit their final RealWorld (Phase 1) project solutions by December 15, 2010, are eligible to move into the InWorld phase to compete for scholarships and technology awards.
