The Better Hour Contest is in commemoration of the 200^th anniversary of the 1807 abolition of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Cash prizes totaling $50,000, including a $10,000 first place prize, are provided by the John Templeton Foundation. Awards will be presented in Congress in May 2008.
