Heart to Heart: Danger of Living The “If Only’s”
Are you struggling in your relationships with your children? Are you taking the blame of “If only I had…” or “If only I hadn’t…”? Many homeschool moms become discouraged by these thoughts. But it is possible to be released from this cloak of condemnation. The Lord promises to forgive when we confess our sins and doubts (I John 1:9) so ask the Lord for wisdom to show you any specific area of true conviction in your relationship with your child. Do whatever it takes to restore fellowship with the Lord and with your child, and when you have done these things, then rest in the forgiveness and mercy of God. Realize that true conviction always brings along with it hope and help, but condemnation never does. After examining your heart and dealing with conviction biblically, guard your mind against unfounded accusations that are meant to discourage and destroy. Take heart, the Lord is near, and He is able to redeem and restore these relationships.
Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit. NASB
