Test Taking Tips for Teens

Although your teens may think that they’ll never take another test once they graduate from high school, this simply is not so! Many post-high school situations make use of tests including not only college, technical, and trade schools, but also job-related testing such as certification and training.

Use the high school years to hone your teens’ test taking skills. Do they know how to study for a test? Review with them what will be on a test, give them an idea of the make up of the test (multiple choice, essay, short answer and so on). If you are using pre-packaged tests and quizzes, be sure to eliminate any questions on materials/concepts you may not have covered.
