You’re Invited: Common Core Building the Machine Screening
Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:
Last month, HSLDA released Building the Machine, its long-awaited documentary on the Common Core State Standards Initiative.
The film delves into Common Core, “the largest education reform you have never heard of.” Forty-six states signed on and agreed to implement the standards by the 2014-2015 school year with little public input—even though it will affect millions of American children. The documentary compiles interviews from leading educational experts, including members of the Common Core Validation Committee.
HSLDA is teaming with the Heritage Foundation for a screening of this important documentary in the D.C. area. Sen. Chuck Grassley will deliver remarks, and the screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the film’s director, Ian Reid.
