Dear HSLDA Members and Friends,

Your calls on SB 248 are working, but action is still needed to stop this dangerous bill. Based on your calls and emails, the Senate sponsors of SB 248 are considering amending the bill. However, HSLDA believes that SB 248 in its current form is unworkable. Senators should withdraw SB 248 and contact stakeholders like HSLDA and Christian Home Educators of Ohio that have experience and expertise to develop appropriate legislation if needed.

Click here for more information about SB 248.

Action Requested

Please contact the bill sponsors and ask them to withdraw Senate Bill 248. Please give them the following messages in your own words:

Thank you for listening to our concerns and being willing to amend SB 248. However, the current bill is an unworkable solution. Please withdraw SB 248 and initiate discussions with homeschool and other stakeholders to determine what, if any, legislation is needed to address the initial concerns that led to the bill.

You can contact the bill’s sponsors using the following contact information:

Who are the Nation’s Best Lobbyists?

We don’t know that this has ever been determined; but we do know that HSLDA’s Federal Relations Department is the only national organization lobbying on behalf of homeschoolers on Capitol Hill.
