Dear New Jersey HSLDA Members and Friends,

Your U.S. Senator, Robert Menendez, is the Chairman of the U.S. Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee. The Committee will hold a hearing on whether the United States Senate should ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) on Tuesday, November 5, at 2:30 PM.

It is critical that Senator Menendez hears loud and clear from his constituents about this dangerous United Nations treaty. Senator Menendez is a strong supporter of the treaty.

Please call Senator Menendez right now at his DC office, as well as his district offices and urge him to oppose the UN CRPD. Senator Menendez’s D.C. office number is 202-224-4744 and you can also call any of his district offices at the following numbers:

Barrington856-757-5353
Newark973-645-3030

You can also email Senator Menendez by using HSLDA’s emailing tool to send a prewritten letter to your Senator by filling out your information here.

Your message to Senator Menendez can be as simple as the following:

“I urge you to oppose the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This treaty surrenders U.S. sovereignty to unelected UN bureaucrats and will threaten parental care of children with disabilities. Our nation already has laws to protect Americans with disabilities. This treaty is unnecessary and will hurt families by giving bureaucrats the power to decide what is in the best interests of a child with disabilities, not the child’s parents.”

To find out more about the CRPD please click here. To read the text of the CRPD please click here.

Thank you for joining with us in this battle to protect our children and our children’s future. You defeated this treaty last year. Standing together, we can defeat this treaty once again.

For liberty,

Mike Smith
President, HSLDA
