Dear Idaho HSLDA Members and Friends,

Your U.S. Senator, James Risch, is a member of the U.S. Senate's Foreign Relations Committee. The Committee will hold a hearing on whether the United States Senate should ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) on Tuesday, November 5, at 2:30 PM.

Senator Risch is a strong opponent of the CRPD. However, it is critical that Senator Risch hears a strong message of support from his constituents about this dangerous United Nations treaty.

Please call Senator Risch right now at his DC office as well as his district offices and thank him for his past opposition to the UN CRPD, and urge him to continue to oppose this treaty.

You may reach Senator Risch at the following numbers:

You can also email Senator Risch by using HSLDA’s emailing tool to send him a prewritten letter by filling out your information here.

Your message to Senator Risch can be as simple as the following:

“Thank you for your past opposition to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This treaty surrenders U.S. sovereignty to unelected UN bureaucrats and will threaten parental care of children with disabilities. Our nation already has laws to protect Americans with disabilities. This treaty is unnecessary and will hurt families by giving bureaucrats the power to decide what is in the best interests of a child with disabilities, not the child’s parents.”

Thank you for joining with us in this battle to protect our children and our children's future. You defeated this treaty last year. Standing together, we can defeat this treaty once again.

For liberty,

Mike Smith
President, HSLDA

How Long are You in For?

Some families are facing what seems like a lifelong commitment to homeschooling, with children at both ends of the spectrum— some graduating and some just reaching school age. If you’re going to be “in” for a while, consider a lifetime membership with HSLDA. It’s a good deal for families with more than 10 years of homeschooling ahead.
