Dear Michigan Members and Friends,

Thank you for the privilege of serving you! HSLDA greatly appreciates your membership and support because it allows us to defend you, your family and our movement from unreasonable interference from the government.

I wanted to alert you to elections that are taking place tomorrow on August 6, 2013. Many counties in Michigan are voting on candidates and issues tomorrow that could affect our homeschool freedoms.

HSLDA encourages our members to be involved in the political process in order to insure that homeschool-friendly candidates are elected to public office. For more information about polling locations, ballot issues, and candidate lists, you can visit the Michigan State Department’s website.

Our friends at Citizens for Traditional Values have posted information on the election that you can view on their Facebook page.

Thank you for all you do in defense of freedom for families in the great state of Michigan! If you know a homeschooling family who is not a member of HSLDA, would you take a moment to encourage them to join with us to defend our important freedoms?

Very truly yours,

Michael P. Donnelly, Esq.
HSLDA Staff Attorney

Extreme makeovers are for extreme circumstances...

Most homeschools don’t need an extreme makeover, but there is something to be said for attention to detail and recognition of accomplishments. Watch the media and you’ll soon see that not everyone wants home educators and homeschooling to look good. HSLDA works hard to shed light on the good work of home educators so it’s obvious that we don’t need someone “making-over” our homeschools. Join HSLDA and help us show the world that we’re fine as we are…thank you!
