Joint E-lert—June 19, 2013
From: Mike Smith, HSLDA and Roy Hanson, Family Protection Ministries
Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:
At what age does your child have to begin school?
If your child turns 6 years old on or before October 1, 2013, then he or she is required to be enrolled in school for this coming fall (school year 2013-2014).
For the fall of the next school year (2014-2015), if your child turns 6 years old on or before September 1, 2014, then he or she is required to be enrolled for 2014-2015 school year.
For a more detailed explanation, with helpful examples, see the full background paper on the new school entry-age cutoff date system.
P.S. We greatly value you and your support—it is a privilege to serve you! If you or someone you know is not a member of HSLDA, will you consider taking a moment today to join or recommend us? Your support enables us to defend individual families threatened by government officials and protect homeschooling freedom for all. Join now >>
