-> Extreme makeovers are for extreme circumstances...

Most homeschools don't need an extreme makeover, but there is
something to be said for attention to detail and recognition of
accomplishments. Watch the media and you'll soon see that not
everyone wants home educators and homeschooling to look good.
HSLDA works hard to shed light on the good work of home educators
so it's obvious that we don't need someone "making-over" our
homeschools. Join HSLDA and help us show the world that we're fine
as we are . . . thank you!

1. Of Death Stars, NASCAR, and Homeschooling

Tens of thousands "rally" demanding action from Obama through official
White House petition. With only weeks before oral arguments in a
potentially precedent-setting human rights case, HSLDA has launched a
petition on the White House website insisting that the Obama
Administration grant permanent legal status to the Romeikes, a family
persecuted for homeschooling in Germany.

2. U.S. Government Seeks to Deport German Homeschool Family

Escaping persecution in Germany for homeschooling, the Romeike family
left everything they had to come to America. They won political asylum
in 2010, but the U.S. government overturned that decision. HSLDA is
now appealing their case. Join with us in asking President Obama to
grant the Romeikes permanent legal status.

3. School to Homeschool Family: Obtain Approval or Accreditation or
Else!

HSLDA helped defend a homeschool family against truancy charges by
explaining that Kansas law does not require approval or accreditation.

5. Texas: Your Calls Help Protect Parental Rights

children from unwanted visitation was withdrawn from the docket in the
Texas Senate.

6. Celebrating 30 years of Defending Homeschool Freedom

As we look back on 30 years of defending homeschool freedom, it evokes
poignant memories of family milestones: The moment of realizing that
homeschooling was just what a child needed. That exhilarating first
day of bravely stepping out on a different path than everyone else.
The joy of seeing children learn, grow, and graduate . . . and even
start homeschooling their own children.

Watch and be encouraged!
