CHEA Convention--Save the Date, April 12-13

Online pre-registration is available now until March 11, 2013 at
www.cheaofca.org. Each paid registration allows a spouse to attend for
free.

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:

Homeschooling has gone from the fringe to mainstream in the last
decade and is now the fastest growing form of education in the United
States.* Thinking of joining this growing group of homeschool parents?
Registration is now open for a homeschool convention, abounding in
learning opportunities and including ways to attend for free.

The Christian Home Educators Association (CHEA) of California presents
the 26th Annual Bay Area CHEA Homeschool Convention, set for April
12-13, 2013 at the Santa Clara Convention Center and Hyatt Hotel in
Santa Clara, CA http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=17474 .

Topics for the nearly 30 convention workshops include elementary and
high school teaching overviews, marriage, learning disabilities,
frugal living, choosing curriculum, home organization, and much more.

The Convention will feature Keynote Speakers Hal and Melanie Young,
authors of Raising Real Men. The Youngs will be speaking on discipling
your children, perseverance, marriage, raising boys, fathers and
homeschooling, and meal planning.

Daniel Craig of CollegePlus is the speaker for the Teen
Convention--Equipping the Next Generation for Real Life (ages 12-18).
Descriptions of the teen workshops, which include Entrepreneurship and
Earning a Bachelor's Degree by Age 18 are provided on the CHEA
website: www.cheaofca.org. The Teen Convention offers four sessions
for just $20.

Carr Ministries will present an onsite Children's Convention focusing
on the wonders of electricity while exploring the lives of those who
were changed by God's power (ages 4-12) for $32 on April 13.
Pre-registration is recommended as this usually sells out.

Mike Smith of HSLDA will hold workshops, Your Future to
Homeschool--Secure or Not? And a Legal Legislative Update.

Other highlights include an Exhibit Hall with 100 booths, exhibitor
workshops to showcase products and curriculum, and an Ultimate
Giveaway with prizes. A Leadership Conference takes place April 12 and
requires separate registration.

Online pre-registration is available now until March 11, 2013 at
www.cheaofca.org. Each paid registration allows a spouse to attend for
free. At-the-door registration will also be available, at slightly
higher prices. Parking is free for the event.

The public is invited to come to a free Introduction to Home Education
session at 6 p.m. Friday, April 12 featuring a panel of homeschool
veterans to answer the audience's questions.

Parents of preschoolers whose oldest child is five or younger and who
have never attended a CHEA Convention can request free attendance by
calling 562-864-2432 by March 11 at 4 p.m.

You may also attend for free if you are one of CHEA's Premium Members.
If you aren't a Premium Member, find out how you can become one and
attend for free http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=17475 .

Convention prices for pre-registration are $59 for CHEA Members and
$94 for non-Members. CHEA Membership is just $35 per year. At-the-door
prices are $15 higher.

The Hyatt Regency is the Convention hotel, adjacent to the Convention
Center.

"Whether you have homeschooled for years or are just checking out the
possibility, you are welcome to join us," said Susan Beatty,
co-founder and general manager of CHEA. "We encourage anyone seeking
educational options for their children to consider attending to get
the scoop on homeschooling."

Visit CHEA's website www.cheaofca.org for a full exhibitor, workshop,
and speaker list and up-to-the-minute details. You can also contact
CHEA by email at cheainfo@cheaofca.org or phone at 562-864-CHEA
(2432).

CHEA is having a pre-registration Facebook party today, Thursday,
March 7 from 5-7 p.m. (Pacific time) with prizes including one free
admission to the Convention! Visit the CHEA Facebook page for your
chance to win http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=17478 !

CHEA serves the homeschooling community in California throughout the
year by providing Conventions and other events, publishing a
bi-monthly digital magazine, maintaining a homeschool directory of
groups throughout the state, sending a weekly e-newsletter, the
Connection, and by coordinating with Family Protection Ministries and
the Home School Legal Defense Association to protect homeschool rights
in California.
