====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Iowa--Anti-Parent Bill Dies in Subcommittee Dear Iowa HSLDA Members and Friends: Thank you for your calls opposing SF 118! On Tuesday a legislative subcommittee killed SF 118, an anti-parent bill that would have given the government, rather than parents, the right to decide when and if grandchildren and grandparents spend time together. No further calls about this bill are needed at this time. One of the essential duties of parenting is deciding whom your child spends time with. The people your child spends time with could alter your child's future for the better or the worse. No parent is perfect. But no judge knows or loves your child like you do, and no judge can fill your shoes as a parent. Your ability to rear your children as you see fit requires that you make the decisions about whom your kids should spend time with. Your right to make those decisions is safe for now!
