====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Arkansas--Attend Home School Day at the Capitol! Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: Home School Day at the Capitol is coming February 12, 2013. This event will be held in Little Rock, in and around the Capitol Building. Your homeschool family will have a unique opportunity to observe the legislative process and spend time with elected officials at the State Capitol. From 10 a.m. until noon, you can observe bills being debated in legislative committee meetings. From 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m., you can watch floor debates and actual votes on legislation from the House or Senate gallery. Throughout the day, you will also have the opportunity to sign up for free guided tours of the historic Capitol Building any time of the day. This event is being organized by the Arkansas Education Alliance. To register for this event, please go to their website at http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=16910 . The deadline for registration is 5 p.m. on February 8, 2013, so please register soon! In addition, please bring at least two desserts to share with your elected officials, one for your state senator and one for your state representative. We are keenly aware that our parental and homeschool freedoms are best preserved when we all stand together to defend them.
