====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Legislature Now in Session Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, As of January 9, the New York Legislature has officially convened for the 2013 legislative session. Throughout the session, which is scheduled to run from January 9, 2013 until January 7, 2014, HSLDA will be tracking and analyzing legislation that could affect your right to homeschool, as well as monitoring other legislation that could more broadly impact your parental rights. As you may know, the amount of legislation introduced in New York far exceeds any other state. In the 2011-2012 session alone, the New York Legislature had more than 16,000 bills to consider. We do not anticipate any reduction in 2013. HSLDA is committed to keeping you informed with email action e-lerts and updates as needed so you can protect your homeschooling freedom. Please visit our website http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=16805 or contact our office by phone at 540-338-5600 or by email at legald@hslda.org if you have questions!
