1. New Jersey: Principal Drops Demand to Approve Curriculum

When a local public school principal insisted on reviewing a new
homeschool family's curriculum, Home School Legal Defense Association
pointed out that he was stepping outside his authority.

2. Wisconsin: District Hints at Truancy Charge over Enrollment Form

After being contacted by HSLDA, a school district worker agreed to
change a form letter that asked homeschoolers for an enrollment
statement earlier than required by law.

3. Grants for Military Homeschoolers

, HSLDA's charitable arm, is having a second enrollment period in
October for their brand new Military Fund. This fund helps military
homeschool families purchase curriculum. Families where one or both
parents are active, disabled, retired or in the reserves are
