5. Grants Available to Homeschool Special Needs Children

The Home School Foundation http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=15443 ,
HSLDA's charitable arm, is offering special needs grants to HSLDA
member families (of at least six months) who fit certain guidelines.
The Special Needs Children's Fund enables financially struggling
homeschooling families to provide a quality education for their
children with special learning needs. It helps with special therapies,
equipment, testing and specialized materials. Applications will be
accepted throughout August.

9. National History Bee Open to Homeschoolers

Homeschool students are now invited to participate in the 2012-2013
National History Bee. In this competition, elementary and middle
school students vie to progress through local and regional bees to
qualify for the national event. The 2012 national championship was
televised, and the winner received a $50,000 scholarship.
