---[ How will your child make a difference? ]-------------------------

Apologia's Biblical Worldview Series: "I've never seen a better
resource than these books to prepare children to think biblically
about the world in which they are growing up. If you're homeschooling,
this series is a must-buy. If you're not homeschooling--it's still a
must-buy." --Tom Gilson, Campus Crusade for Christ

.....................................................................
1. Paper: Death By Homeschooling

If coverage by the Dayton Daily News and other media organizations is
any indication, Ohio homeschoolers may face attempts to enact more
intrusive home education laws.

Read more about it at:
http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=14342

.....................................................................
2. Ohio: Breaking New Ground in Social Security Benefits

HSLDA's victory in restoring Social Security benefits for a
homeschooled teen should help students in similar circumstances.

3. Grant for Qualifying Discount Groups

The Home School Foundation will send out its annual grant applications
by early May to homeschool organizations that are registered with
HSLDA's Discount Group Program and have 25 or more HSLDA members on
their Discount Group roster http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=14325
(as of April 20). Grant applications will be delivered via email to
qualifying groups. HSLDA no longer mails grant applications.

To be sure the correct person receives that email, leaders should
verify/update your group's contact information (mailing address, phone
number, email, etc.), if you have not done so recently. You may update
this information online at the Group Services website at
http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=14326 or you may email the new
information to groupservices@hslda.org.
