====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Minnesota Legislature Now In Session Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, The Minnesota Legislature has convened for its 2012 session, which continues through May 21, 2012. Throughout the session, HSLDA will be carefully tracking and analyzing legislation that could affect your homeschooling freedom. We are currently tracking HF 1897 which would simplify the conscientious exemption from immunizations by removing the requirement for notarization. HSLDA continues to work closely with the Minnesota Association of Christian Home Educators ("MACHE") to preserve your freedoms. Please stay tuned for email action e-lerts and updates as we work together to preserve your homeschool freedoms. To learn more about the MACHE and its upcoming annual conference, visit: http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=13544 . Also, pursuant to legislation passed during 2011, parents may now certify their student's homeschool and home-classroom driver education status for purposes of getting an instruction permit prior to turning 18. The Home School Driver's Education Affidavit form can be found on our website here: http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=13545 We greatly value you and your support--it is a privilege to serve you! If you or someone you know is not a member of HSLDA, will you consider taking a moment today to join or recommend us and support our work defending individual families threatened by government officials and protecting homeschooling freedom for all?
