3. Germany: Global Human Rights Conference Includes Homeschooling

For the first time in its 50-year history, the World Congress on the
Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy included homeschooling its
agenda. Representatives from HSLDA and Patrick Henry College were
there.

4. Georgia: Fayette County Mandates Online Filings

In a June letter to homeschooling families, the Fayette County Board
of Education informed them that monthly attendance records for the
2011-2012 school year had to be submitted online.

5. Iowa: Birth Date vs. Age on CPI Form

Though the Iowa state form asks for a child's birth date, families who
wish to keep this information confidential may prefer to report simply
the child's age as of September 15.

6. Maryland: Protect Your Privacy--Use Only the State Form

Individual public school districts often devise their own

10. Home School Foundation: Widows and Special Needs Children Grants
Available

Do you know a homeschooling widow in need or a homeschool family with
special needs children? They may be eligible for help from the Home
School Foundation. August 31 is the deadline for enrollment in the
Special Needs Children's Fund. The Widow's Fund will continue open
enrollment through September.
