1. West Virginia: New State Homeschool Policy "In the Works"

Home School Legal Defense Association is coordinating with state and
local homeschool leaders to counter reports that a new, more
restrictive statewide homeschool policy is being developed.

3. North Carolina: DNPE Softens Impact of New Policy

News of a statewide policy change caused great concern to

originally written.

4. Whatever Schools Teach...

A recent California law shows the problem with not allowing opt-out
provisions for public schools. You may already know this--it may be
why you homeschool. Or it could be one more reason to cite, and you
can pass it to your public schooling friends.

Have you ever had an inspiring thought, an ingenious shortcut, or a
special memory that you wished you could share with other
homeschoolers? Well, now you can! "The Home School Court Report's"
Parent to Parent column provides opportunities for homeschooling
parents to share their thoughts by providing a topic for discussion.
Our next topic will be field trips: Getting out and doing things can
be a great way to enhance learning, whether it's the park or a museum.
Write in and share your experiences about learning outside the
"classroom."

Mail 150-word submissions (may be edited for space) to:
HSLDA
Attn: Parent to Parent
P.O. Box 3000
Purcellville, VA 20134

Or email us, including "Parent to Parent" in the subject line, at
