Spain: Court Drops Charges Against Family A Spanish court dropped the case against a homeschool family after receiving hundreds of letters and emails from HSLDA families and homeschoolers around the world. Florida Joins States Calling for Parental Rights Amendment Florida has become the fifth state to pass a resolution calling on the U.S. Congress to send the Parental Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to the states for ratification. Send in Your Best Ballads Submissions are being accepted until June 1 for the 2011 HSLDA homeschool poetry contest. This year's competition requires students in all three age categories to compose original ballads inspired by various literary works. As always, cash prizes will be awarded. Do something eternal with your family this summer. Enroll each of your children in the 2011 National Bible Bee Competition! The Bible Bee is a Scripture knowledge and memory competition in the context of family discipleship. Families use the age-appropriate Sword Study handbooks and correlating parent guidebooks to study together and gather locally with other families to prepare for their local contests, which will be held August 27. The top 100 from each of three age divisions will be invited to compete in the National Bible Bee Contest in November for prizes totaling $260,000.
