====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Save Big At GenJ's iGovern West!" Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, When you walk down the street, browse channels on TV, or surf the web, you can see how varied Americans are. How can the government implemented by the Founders hope to represent the national interests of such a diverse people? We know there are many competing dogmas, doctrines and divisions in our population. The answer is both philosophical and practical, and is enshrined in our Constitution. Like our U.S. congressmen, students at Generation Joshua's iGovern West Leadership Camp are placed in the difficult role of an elected representative. This extensive and fast-paced immersion teaches leadership and government based on biblical principles. Students are confronted with the challenges of party, principle, and compromise. They must craft legislation that balances the needs of constituents with the national interest. They must raise money to support themselves and their political allies. But camp is not only bills and by-laws. At iGovern West your student will also gain outdoor experiences that will be the highlight of the summer. Hiking, canoeing, archery, a 10-acre lake, and the quarter-mile zip-line ensure that students attending iGovern West will do more than learn about government; they will also enjoy the mountain landscape provided by Eagle Lake Campground. iGovern is only complete when we ground the students in their faith. Students will learn how to apply their faith to culture, politics, friendships, and life decisions through daily chapels and worship. MANY WAYS TO SAVE The best part of iGovern is its incredible value. Generation Joshua's mission is to assist parents in raising up the next generation of Christian leaders and citizens, so we work hard to make the program as affordable as possible. As a result, you can end up paying as little as $450 for camp. > HSLDA members receive a $100 discount off the price of camp. We also offer a $100 discount for active/retired military and full-time ministry. > Register by May 31 and receive an additional $50 off. > Combine the HSLDA members' discount and the early registration discount and you can save 25% off the $600 camp price! INSPIRING SPEAKERS Generation Joshua brings speakers who are experts in their respective fields. Past speakers include Congressman Mike Pence and Congresswomen Michele Bachmann, Summit Ministries Founder Dr. David Nobel, Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, HSLDA co-founder Mike Farris, and President of Concerned Women for America Wendy Wright. Coupled with our professional staff and resident experts, your students are offered a rare and accurate look into the reality of American politics with Christian guidance on how to wrestle with the complex issues that face our nation. Generation Joshua's iGovern West program is hosted at Eagle Lake Camp, nestled in the Colorado Rockies above Colorado Springs. iGovern West runs August 14-20, and is open to students 14-19. You can register for iGovern West online now: http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=10896 I urge you to sign up by May 31 if you would like to take advantage of the early registration discount.
