Parental Rights: Congratulations on "Our" New Baby A Nevada police officer threatened to arrest the parents of a newborn when they tried to take their child home from the hospital over the objections of a nurse there. A pediatrician offering a second opinion had told the couple they could treat the child for suspected jaundice at home. The incident illustrates the need for more clearly defined parental rights. California: Certified Teacher to be Investigated HSLDA helped a family begin homeschooling despite a public school official's misguided attempt to "investigate" the mother's qualifications to teach. Colorado: District Distributes Inaccurate Homeschool Forms Contrary to what one school district requested, homeschoolers do not have to use local forms or provide more information than the law requires when filing a notice of intent.
